What Is Keto Diet?

A low-carb diet which gives more calories from proteins and fats and less from carbohydrates.

How does the Keto Diet work?

When we eat under 50 grams of carbs a day, in about 3 to 4 days, our body runs out of “energy” and starts breaking down protein and fat for energy, which can make us lose weight. This process is called ketosis.

Is Keto Diet safe?

The keto diet can cause many health problems [low blood pressure, kidney stones, constipation, nutritional deficiencies, and an increased risk of heart disease]. Therefore, it should only be followed under expert guidance.

What is Intermittent Fasting?

  1. Intermittent fasting or IF is a “dieting” plan where we decide on specific time periods when we will eat.
  2. Some common ways are:
    • 5:2 IF: five days of “normal” eating and two “fasting” days with very low-calorie consumption.
    • Eat-Stop-Eat Approach: Complete fasting for 24-hours.
    • 16/8 Method: Time-restricted eating – Eat for 8 hours, Fast for 16 or any other combination like 10/14, 6/18, etc.
