Lessons Learnt [December, 2020]

  1. Keep busy at something. A busy person never has time to be unhappy.
  2. Real friends are the ones who survive transitions between address books.
  3. Pride and courage are simple: Pride is holding your head up when all around you have theirs bowed, courage is what makes you do it.
  4. The heaviest thing to carry is a grudge.
  5. Opportunities always look bigger going than coming.
  6. Needing someone is like needing a parachute. If they are not there the first time, chances are you won’t be needing them again.
  7. Most people plan their vacation with better care than they do their lives, perhaps because escape is easier than change.
  8. Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.
  9. It’s your attitude, not your aptitude that determines your altitude.
  10. The liar’s punishment is not in the least that he is not believed, but that he cannot believe anyone else.
  11. Don’t judge my story by the chapter you walked in on.
  12. Most people do not pray; they only beg.
  13. Procrastination is an assassin – there is nothing so fatiguing as an uncompleted task.
  14. The one who graduates today and stops learning tomorrow is uneducated the day after.
  15. “Someday” and “One Of These Days” are losing their grip on my vocabulary; if it’s worth seeing or hearing or doing, I want to see and hear and do it now.
  16. All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
  17. The plus symbol was made with two minus symbols! All negative things can be shaped as positive by our hard work and positive thinking.
  18. Life is not a dress rehearsal, today is the only guarantee you get.
  19. No prayer goes unanswered. It’s just that sometimes the answer is no.
  20. Spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.
  21. Waiting is a trap. There will always be reasons to wait. The truth is, there are only two things in life, reasons and results, and reasons simply don’t count.
  22. My character is what I do when I think no one is looking.
  23. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. And the devil’s name is Alzheimer’s.
  24. Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.
  25. Men are wise in proportion, not to their experience, but to their capacity for experience.
  26. Reputation is what people think you are. Personality is what you seem to be. Character is what you really are.
  27. Silence is often misinterpreted, but never misquoted.
  28. The artist who aims at perfection in everything achieves it in nothing.
  29. A person that learns from their mistakes is smart. A person that learns from other people’s mistakes is smarter.
  30. The hard reality of life is that when I need advice, everyone is ready to help me, but when I need help, everyone is ready to advise me.
  31. Anger is only one letter short of danger.
